Ricardo Bäcker is an Industrial Engineer (Universidad de Buenos Aires).

He began his professional career in Arthur Andersen’s Consulting Division which was just starting and then later became the successful company now known as Accenture.

He specialized in reengineering processes, implementing complex systems and providing advisory to top management in industrial and mass consumption companies. He worked in the United States, Germany, Mexico and Venezuela as well as Argentina.

Ricardo was named Partner of the company and set out to develop the office in Lima, Peru that became a leader in the market through his guidance.

Later, he was named General Director of the Consulting Division for Argentina and Chile, offices which he directed until his retirement in 1994.

He then decided to work in consulting, concentrating on matters related to talent and formed part of AMROP International’s Argentine affiliate. Later, he founded his own firm, Global Management, that was later acquired by Heidrick& Struggles to launch their affiliate in Argentina. He directed that branch until 2001 when he was recruited by Korn / Ferry International to relaunch their operations in the Southern Cone.

During 8 years, he has concentrated on making the offices in Argentina and Chile grow, converting Korn / Ferry Argentina into one of the leading executive recruitment companies in the country.

Ricardo Backer specializes in advising top executives in industrial, natural resources, mass consumption companies and pharmaceuticals in areas related to talent and incorporating critical resources. Furthermore, he has dedicated an important part of his career helping executives make important decisions regarding career changes.

He founded Backer Advisory in 2009. As head of the firm he developed methodologies to assist Top Management in companies explain needs for change and align their management teams accordingly. He advised numerous executives regarding their career paths. Ricardo successfully placed top level executives and designed and implemented coaching programs for management.

In 2012 Ricardo Backer and Gustavo Wurzel founded BACKER WURZEL & PARTNERS, Executive Talent & Search Consultants, a consulting firm focused on improving the satisfaction level of Senior Directors and CEOs with their management, leveraging the performance and effectiveness at both management team and individual levels.

He is Advisory Board Chairman at Net Partners International, regional technological services company (www.netpartners-international.com).

Through Vistage, Ricardo coordinates and assists a group of General Managers from multinational companies in decision making regarding both work related and personal matters (www.vistage.com).

He is also a Professor at the Board Director course at UCES.
