Horacio Cortes is as International Advisor to Global Strategic Services with more than 30 years of experience in human resources, working with national and multinational companies in the Americas, including Mexico, the US and Brazil.

His most recent assignment was as EVP for International Bank in McAllen , TX and had a key role in the team to continue the integration of several financial groups in the border between Mexico and the US under the BANORTE Group of financial services division.

Horacio launched the Human Capital Advisory Service practice in Mexico after the merge between Arthur Andersen and Deloitte in 2002. He was successful in reaching a record growth for a new practice that had an important contribution to the group. The consulting practice included services in Change Management, People and Organization Strategy, Total Rewards and HR Technology.

Prior to this start-up, Horacio led the HR position at Arthur Andersen, Mexico.

He was responsible for Human Resources Latin America for Blockbuster (VIACOM)

In 1995, he founded HC y Asociados SC, a firm focused in consulting in Human Resources as well as Executive Search.

Horacio spent some important years working in the financial sector in Mexico. He worked for Grupo Financiero Probursa and Bancomer (now BBVA) as the head of HR for both groups.

Horacio spent several years with Pepsico International where he held several regional functions in Human Resources in Latin America. He also had a Senior Manager position in the operations area running the marketing and operation plans. In New York he was responsible for the Compensation Planning position for Pepsico International. His last role for them was as HR Director for Pepsi Brazil.

Horacio started is career in Human Resources in American Express Mexico where he started as a management trainee.

Horacio holds a business administration degree from Anáhuac University and an MBA in Organizational Development. He is a Mexican National, is married and lives in Cuernavaca, Mexico. He is fluent in English and Spanish and is proficient in Portuguese.

At present, Horacio is Board Member in some non-for-profit organizations, he actively participates as a speaker in several Mexican universities and at different entrepreneurial forums. He is also the CEO of LS De la Vega & HC Asociados. SC. He is a Mexican national, fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese. He is married and has three children.
